CONTEST POLICIES
THE RULES
- No purchase is necessary. Entrants may send in a hand-written request along with a one-thousand (1000) word hand-written letter focussing on the topic of why Select Shooting Supplies in their favourite firearms retailer to be entered into the contest. It must be sent by Canada Post and be received before the contest end date or by the time all eligible products are sold.
ii) Eligibility: Select Shooting Supplies giveaways are open to all residents of Canada who are the age of majority in their province or territory of residence or older a the time of entry;
iii) Contest Period: Contests will have the listed start and finish date for each contest. Should all eligible product be sold before the end date, the draw will be immediate;
iv) Contest Entry: Select Shooting Supplies customers who purchase one of the listed products will be entered to win one of the eligible prizes one (1) time per purchase. Customers may repeat this process during the contest time frame unless all eligible products have been purchased;
v) Contest Entry Restrictions: Customers are restricted to one (1) entry per purchase;
vi) Awarding of Prize: The prize will be awarded to a Select Shooting Supplies Customer after a random number generator selects a number associated with the prize winner’s entry. An employee of Select Shooting Supplies will contact the winner via phone/e-mail or an alternative contact method to arrange pickup or delivery so the winner can claim their prize (See Section 4 for more details);
vii) Employees of Select Shooting Supplies and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and principal agencies and the household members of any of the above are not eligible to participate in this contest of any contest published by Select Shooting Supplies Inc.
GENERAL RULES AND POLICY
2. Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the entry. For the purpose of the Contest Rules, the ‘authorized account holder’ of an e-mall address is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by and internet service or access provider, online service or access provider or any other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Each selected entrant may be required to provide the Sponsor with proof that the selected entrant is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry.
ii) Each prize claim is subject to verification by Select Shooting Supplies Inc. and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple IP addresses, under multiple identities or through the use of any device or interface to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries during the Contest period are automatically void. All Contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete, illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged, irregular or fraudulent in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules are automatically void. Select Shooting Supplies Inc. will be sold and final reference source in validating a prize claim.
iii) By participating, each customer and selected customer agrees:
a) To be bound by these Rules and the decisions of Select Shooting Supplies Inc;
b) To release and hold harmless Select Shooting Supplies Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, independent dealers and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives - including advertising and promotion agencies - from any and all liability for claims/damages including, but not limited to, claims/damages for personal injury, for property damage with respect to acceptance, possession or use or misuse of the Prize in participation in the Contest;
c) To permit Select Shooting Supplies Inc. to use their name, photo, city and province for advertising or publicity purposes without any additional compensation;
d) And the winner agrees to sign a Declaration and Release Form to this effect.
iv) The decisions of Select Shooting Supplies Inc. in relation to this Contest will be final and binding on all entrants;
v) Select Shooting Supplies Inc. reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest, at its sole discretion, in the event of a technical failure, computer virus or other technology-related issue, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control that corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest;
vi) Under no circumstances will Select Shooting Supplies, its affiliates, subsidiaries, independent dealers and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents, including advertising or promotion agencies be required to award more Prizes than what is indicated in these Rules or award the Prizes other than in accordance with these Rules;
vii) The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws. The Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over Select Shooting Supplies Inc. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and Select Shooting Supplies Inc. in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, including procedural provisions, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any jurisdiction’s laws;
viii) Select Shooting Supplies Inc. will use the entrant’s personal information only for identification purposes and protect the entrant’s personal information in a manner that is consistent with the Privacy Policy of Select Shooting Supplies Inc.
(https://selectshootingsupplies.com/privacy-policy/). The personal information provided to enter the Contest will be used only to administer the Contest and for no other reason;
ix) All intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by Select Shooting Supplies Inc. and its affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited;
x) For residents of Quebec - Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Regie de Alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize many be submitted to the Regis only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement;
xi) All firearm transfers, if required, are personal transfers from the owners of Select Shooting Supplies Inc. to the Contest winner. Information provided ‘may’ be held for personal records demonstrating the transfer of good to the Contest winner.
THE PRIZES
3. Prizes are listed on the designated item associated with the Contest;
ii) Winners are not entitled to monetary difference between the actual Prize value and stated approximate Prize value, if any;
iii) Prizes will be distributed within a time agreed upon by both parties with freight paid by the Winner, after each Winner has been successfully contacted and notified of their Prize and fulfilled the requirement set out herein;
iv) Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash except at the sole discretion of Select Shooting Supplies Inc. Any unused portion of a Prize will be forfeited and have no cash value. Select Shooting Supplies reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a Prize (or any portion thereof) can not be awarded for any reason;
v) Select Shooting Supplies Inc. shall not assume any liability for any lost or misdirected Prizes;
vi) Select Shooting Supplies Inc. shall not assume any liability for warranty on any item.
WINNER SELECTION
4. The selection of a winner per draw will be selected as follows.
ii) Each draw will have a purchase requirement of a designated item that has a limited amount to be eligible for the Contest and the draw will occur at the time the Contest closes or all items are purchased. Please see the details of the contest for what prize is currently being offered. The odds of being selected as a potential winner are dependant upon the numbers of eligible entries received by Select Shooting Supplies Inc. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant shall be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered during a pre-arranged telephone call or by e-mail to comply with the Contest Rules and sign and return the Release (as described);
iii) Each selected entrant will be notified by phone, e-mail or an alternative form of communication no later than 48 hours after the draw and the Winner must respond within two (2) business days of notification. Upon notification, the selected entrant must respond by e-mail or by phone from the e-mail address or phone number provided in the notification and the selected entrant’s response must be received by Select Shooting Supplies Inc. within two (2) business days of such notification. If the selected entrant does not respond in accordance with the Contest Rules, they will be disqualified and will not receive a Prize and another entrant will be selected at Select Shooting Supplies Inc.’s sole discretion until such time as an entrant satisfies the terms set out herein. Select Shooting Supplies is not responsible for the failure, for any reason whatsoever, of a selected entrant to receive notification from Select Shooting Supplies Inc. to receive a selected entrant’s response.
iv) If, as a result of an error relating to the entry process, drawing or any other aspect of the Contest, there are more received entrants than contemplated in accordance with the Contest Rules, there will be a random draw amongst all eligible Prize claimants after the entire Contest’s closing date to award the correct number of prizes.
